NBC Universal — iVillage
Audience Strategy & Platform Development
project background
We worked with NBC Universal as part of the core digital expansion for iVillage, one of the most influential media properties of its era — a $600 million acquisition that became the foundation for NBC’s push into women’s digital content.
Our role was to strengthen how the platform attracted, understood, and engaged its audience at scale. We advised on community engagement strategy, user experience, and front-end development for a site that connected tens of millions of women every month through conversations, content, and community.
At a time before social media defined audience behavior, iVillage was already operating at network scale — with over 30 million unique visitors a month, 4 million active forum participants, and 4 billion annual page views. Our work helped evolve the audience experience and lay groundwork for NBCU’s cross-platform digital strategy, integrating iVillage with Today Show, Bravo, Oxygen, and other key media properties.
